Quick Answer

These are the questions we get asked at Center Grove kitchen tables. What fits, what fades, what breaks, what it costs and what happens when something goes wrong. The answers are the same ones we give in person.

  • Services: faux wood blinds, wood blinds, vertical blinds, aluminum mini blinds
  • Service area: Center Grove, Johnson County, IN and surrounding areas
  • Two different timelines apply. New custom product takes weeks because it has to be made. Repairs to what's already hanging, a cord lock, a ladder string, a chain that jumped the clutch, are usually far quicker.
  • Insured and bonded

I agree to be contacted by Center Grove Window Treatments regarding my inquiry.

Center Grove homes range from late 1970s houses around Dye's Walk to newer homes in Calvert Farms. Finished basements are common, and some properties overlook a golf course or lake. We'll use the finished frames in your home to plan the fit.

The order form is the contract in miniature. Product line, color, finished width, finished height, mount type, lift, control side, valance or fascia, and any deduction applied. When those fields are right the install is quick. When one is wrong the whole window waits for a remake. That's why we read the order back at the Center Grove measure instead of emailing it and hoping.

We disclose the annoying things before you pay, not after. Inside mounted shades leave a light gap at each side. Blackout fabric doesn't make a blackout room by itself. Motorized shades run on batteries that need replacing about once a year. Woven woods let light through without a liner. None of that stops people from buying. It stops people from feeling cheated, which is a better outcome for everyone in Center Grove.

Built in the Last Few Years?

Many of our Center Grove customers moved into a house built by one of these companies. Builder blinds are usually stock sizes trimmed to fit, so if yours came with the house and never ran right, that is why. We measure the openings as built rather than off the plan.

What We Are Running in Center Grove Right Now

Both offers apply to work quoted and ordered while they are posted here. Ask about them at the in-home measure and we will put the discount on the written quote before you decide anything.

Offer 1

$500 Off Your First Exterior Screen, Plus a Free Motorization Upgrade

Take $500 off your first exterior screen and we will add the motorization upgrade at no charge. Exterior screens stop solar heat outside the glass, which is the only place you can stop it before it is already in the room, and a motor is the difference between using one and forgetting it.

Applies to a first exterior screen. Ask at the measure so the discount is on the written quote before you order. Motorized product runs on batteries that need replacing, about a year on Hunter Douglas PowerView.

Offer 2

Free Motorization Upgrade on Select Interior Shades

Pick from the qualifying interior shade lines and the motorization upgrade is free. It is worth most on the openings you would otherwise leave alone: tall great room glass, anything above a stair, and the west windows nobody remembers to close by four.

Select interior shade lines only. We will tell you at the measure which of your openings qualify. Batteries are a real running cost and are not included.

  • Payments deferred for a promotional period
  • Rate and period set by the lender
  • Quoted price held for the order
Equal Payment Plans

Divide the project cost into equal monthly payments across a fixed promotional period, so the budget is predictable from day one.

The Full Center Grove Window Treatment Menu

From one room to a whole house, Center Grove Window Treatments measures every opening, orders it custom, and installs it with the same crew that took the measurements.

Faux Wood Blinds in Center Grove

Every opening gets a three-point measure across the width, and the narrowest reading is the one we order to. Older Center Grove stock has settled, so openings aren't square, and a blind cut from a single measurement either binds at the tight point or gaps at the wide one.

Learn more

Wood Blinds in Center Grove

A square check comes before a width. We measure the diagonals of the Center Grove opening as well as three widths, because a frame that's off square by a visible amount will show a wedge of daylight along one side no matter how well the blind itself is built.

Learn more

Vertical Blinds in Center Grove

Against a panel track, a vertical costs less and gives you infinite tilt positions rather than just open or closed. Against a roller shade, it stacks off the glass instead of rolling over it. That's why Center Grove patio doors keep coming back to vanes.

Learn more

Aluminum Mini Blinds in Center Grove

The painted face of an aluminum slat reflects a fair share of the sun that hits it, which helps a west Center Grove window in July. The metal itself heats up and radiates into the room, so the benefit is real and modest. Don't expect it to fix a hot room.

Learn more

Roller Shades in Center Grove

Roller fabric can't go in a machine and mostly can't be scrubbed. Dust comes off with a vacuum brush on low, and a spot gets a damp blot and some patience. Vinyl-faced fabrics in a Center Grove kitchen are the exception and they'll take a real wipe.

Learn more

Solar Shades in Center Grove

Chain-operated shades need a tensioner fastened to the frame, and cordless or motorized removes the chain altogether. Products we hang conform to ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022, and in a Center Grove home with young children we'd push you toward a motor or a cordless lift.

Learn more

Cellular Shades in Center Grove

Fabric holds its pleat for years and then slowly softens, and the internal cords are usually what goes first. A shade that still fits its Center Grove opening can often be restrung. Sun on the bottom few inches of a south window ages that section ahead of the rest, and there's no way around it.

Learn more

Zebra Shades in Center Grove

Two to five weeks from approval. Because the sheer and solid bands get dyed together, a lot change moves both, and a replacement shade for one Center Grove window a year later won't read as a match beside its neighbor even under the same name.

Learn more

Roman Shades in Center Grove

Older Roman shades with exposed rear cords are the ones the safety rules were written about. Inner-cord non-compliance is a substantial product hazard under 16 CFR 1120.3. What we hang in Center Grove homes conforms to ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022, and cordless is what we'll quote by default.

Learn more

Woven Wood Shades in Center Grove

The weave passes light everywhere, and that's the entire appeal. Sun through reed throws a pattern across a Center Grove floor in the afternoon that no manufactured fabric reproduces. If that sounds good, buy it. If you want flat even light, we'll show you something else.

Learn more

Blackout Shades in Center Grove

Side channels need somewhere to fasten, and a Center Grove window with trim running tight to a corner may not offer it. We check the wall around the opening before promising you a dark room, because a channel's got to land on something solid to do its job.

Learn more

Plantation Shutters in Center Grove

Frame style is the decision most people don't know they're making. An L-frame is minimal, a Z-frame covers the edge of an out-of-square Center Grove opening, and a deco frame adds width and reads as trim. The right one depends on what your existing trim is doing.

Learn more

Cafe Shutters in Center Grove

The divide height is the whole design. We measure the Center Grove opening and then decide where the panels stop, and that line should relate to something the window already does rather than landing at an arbitrary halfway point. It's decided standing in the room.

Learn more

Motorized Shades in Center Grove

Motors go in at the factory, not in your living room, so the order can't be edited on install day. Custom lead time runs two to five weeks, and a Center Grove job that changes fabric after the order releases starts that clock over.

Learn more

Custom Drapery in Center Grove

Pick fabric in the room it's going in. North light in a Center Grove house reads cool and flattens color, west light warms everything after four, and a swatch chosen under showroom lighting will surprise you on install day. We leave samples for a few days.

Learn more

Valances & Top Treatments in Center Grove

An outside-mounted roller shows a gap at the top where the fabric leaves the tube, and light comes through it in the morning. That's geometry, not a defect. A valance covers that line completely, which is why a Center Grove bedroom often gets a top treatment for a practical reason rather than a decorative one.

Learn more

Exterior Solar Shades in Center Grove

Indiana issues no license for this trade, so what protects you is the paperwork. We're insured and bonded, and IC 24-5-11 requires a written contract over $150, which on a Center Grove exterior job should name the mounting substrate, the mesh, the openness factor and the wind plan.

Learn more

Retractable Awnings in Center Grove

Indiana licenses nobody in this trade, so read the contract instead of the credentials. We're insured and bonded, and IC 24-5-11 requires written scope over $150, which on a Center Grove awning means the projection, the fabric, the mounting method and the wind plan all appear in writing.

Learn more

Commercial Window Treatments in Center Grove

Lead time scales with quantity. Custom fabrication runs two to five weeks at typical residential volume, and a large Center Grove order occupies production longer than that, so a realistic construction schedule builds the shade package in as a long-lead item rather than a finish detail nobody's tracking.

Learn more

Skylight Shades in Center Grove

Color reads differently overhead than it does on a wall. A fabric sampled at eye level in a Center Grove living room will look lighter with the sky behind it and darker from directly below, so we'll hold samples up at the opening rather than trusting a swatch board.

Learn more

Sliding Glass Door Blinds in Center Grove

If a Center Grove patio door is the main path to the yard and gets used constantly, skip the delicate options. Fabric that shows a handprint or a treatment that has to be nudged aside will be a source of irritation, and we'd rather tell you now.

Learn more

Panel Track Blinds in Center Grove

Panels read modern, which is a compliment in some Center Grove rooms and a mismatch in others. Against deep traditional casing and heavy trim they can look imported from a different house, so we'd rather discuss that honestly than deliver a treatment that fights the room.

Learn more

Sheer Shades in Center Grove

Raised, the vanes and facings compress into a stack at the top that's deeper than a rolled fabric would be. On a short Center Grove transom or a window with little header space, that stack takes a visible bite out of the glass, so we measure for it first.

Learn more

Pleated Shades in Center Grove

Pleated shades across Center Grove. A single layer of crisp pleated fabric at a lower cost than cellular, right for secondary bedrooms, offices and rentals where the room does not need the insulating air pocket a honeycomb gives you.

Learn more

Bamboo Shades in Center Grove

Cost here is driven by the weave and the liner, and it isn't size alone. A simple reed with no liner sits at the affordable end of custom, and a fine grass with a blackout liner and a matching valance on a Center Grove window lands somewhere entirely different.

Learn more

Dual Shades in Center Grove

These suit rooms where the light changes through the day and you'd rather have one control for it. A Center Grove living room facing east gets a harsh morning and a soft afternoon, and a dual shade handles both without you swapping between two treatments on the same window.

Learn more

Top-Down Bottom-Up Shades in Center Grove

Cordless top-down bottom-up removes every loop from the window, which is the right specification in a Center Grove house with small kids. Inner-cord non-compliance is a substantial product hazard under 16 CFR 1120.3, and this configuration didn't always come cordless.

Learn more

Cordless Blinds in Center Grove

The alternative worth comparing is a continuous cord loop with a tensioner anchored to the wall, which handles heavy wide units more easily. It's still a corded product, though, and in a Center Grove home with a toddler that trade rarely comes out in the loop's favor.

Learn more

Hardwood Shutters in Center Grove

The rooms that suit hardwood in a Center Grove house are the ones holding steady humidity all year: a front sitting room, a study, an upstairs hallway, a bedroom on the conditioned side of the floor. Put the same panel in an unfinished lower level and you'll be adjusting it by August.

Learn more

Composite Shutters in Center Grove

Color is where composite gives something up. Most lines run whites and off-whites with a limited set of neutrals, and there's no stained wood grain anywhere in the catalog. If your Center Grove room needs a walnut or a custom stain to match millwork, hardwood is the honest answer instead.

Learn more

Smart Home Shade Integration in Center Grove

A sun sensor is worth it on one or two exposures, not on all of them. West glass in Center Grove takes the afternoon load from May into September, and a sensor that drops those shades before the room heats is doing real work. North-facing openings don't need the hardware.

Learn more

Blind Repair & Restring in Center Grove

Blind repair in Center Grove is available for treatments we've installed or serviced before. We'll assess the existing blind before recommending work.

Learn more

Shutter Repair in Center Grove

Shutter repair in Center Grove is available for treatments we've installed or serviced before. If we haven't worked on your shutters, we'll discuss new treatments.

Learn more

Motorization Retrofit in Center Grove

Verticals and wide sliding door treatments don't retrofit the same way. Those run on a traversing track rather than a lift, so the motor pulls the carriers along instead of raising anything, and whether an older Center Grove track accepts that hardware depends entirely on who made it.

Learn more

Outdoor Patio Shades in Center Grove

Power outdoors takes planning. A motorized Center Grove shade needs a proper outdoor-rated supply and a control that tolerates humidity, and running that after the porch is finished is far more disruptive than doing it during a project. If you're building now, put the power in now.

Learn more

Office Window Treatments in Center Grove

Hardware quality shows up in a shared space. Shades in a Center Grove office get operated by people who didn't choose them and don't own them, so metal brackets, a protected chain, a metal bottom rail and a clutch rated for the cycle count outlive a spec written entirely around fabric price.

Learn more

Healthcare Window Treatments in Center Grove

Infection control governs the install, not just the product. Containment, cleanup, pathway control and timing in an occupied Center Grove facility all get agreed with the infection prevention team before a single bracket goes up, and that coordination belongs in the scope rather than being improvised once we're on site.

Learn more

Multifamily Window Treatments in Center Grove

Blackout in bedrooms is a leasing amenity people actually notice. It's also an assembly rather than a fabric: without side channels or a genuine outside mount overlap, a Center Grove apartment gets a room that's dimmer rather than dark, and residents will tell you the difference.

About Us

Local Expertise, Real Results

We'll build your Center Grove window treatment plan around the openings in your own house.

People in Center Grove call Center Grove Window Treatments because they want somebody to own the numbers. On a custom order the measurement is the product, and a size error can't be undone once fabric is cut. We take that responsibility rather than handing you a form to fill in. The rest of the job, across Johnson County, follows from getting that part right.

The service area covers Center Grove from end to end, from the fairway streets of Dye's Walk and the golf community at Hickory Stick Crossings to the lake at Waters Edge and the newer sections of Calvert Farms near the Smith Valley line. Kensington Grove and Deerwood sit west of the high school, Hunters Pointe and Willow Lakes East to the northeast, and Stones Crossing out toward State Road 135, all with Greenwood 46143 mailing addresses.

We'll build your Center Grove project around the rooms you're ready to cover. Tell us where glare affects the space and how much privacy you need after dark. We'll compare the choices before you order.

Our Promise

We'll explain the mounting choice before you order for your Center Grove home. If a product won't clear a handle or fit the available depth, we'll work through the options with you at the window.

Why Center Grove Chooses Us

What Center Grove Clients Get That a Boxed Order Misses

Serving Center Grove and Johnson County with quality materials, thorough inspections, and transparent pricing.

A plan based on the local housing

Center Grove homes range from late 1970s houses around Dye's Walk to newer homes in Calvert Farms. Finished basements are common, and some properties overlook a golf course or lake.

Measurements for your own frames

We'll check each opening in your Center Grove home and look at the room available for the hardware. If a window has been changed since the house was built, the plan needs to work with the frame that's there today.

Samples viewed in your rooms

We'll discuss the finish alongside your Center Grove room's existing trim and furniture. The light at your own window helps you judge whether the fabric suits the space.

The consultation terms stated up front

Your in home design consultation is free. We'll measure the openings and review samples in your rooms.

Our Process

How We Schedule Center Grove Measures and Installs

Your Center Grove window treatment project starts with a design visit. We'll work through the openings before the product is ordered, then plan installation around the confirmed order.

Discuss the rooms

We'll talk through the rooms in your Center Grove home and decide which openings belong in the project. Tell us what you'd like to change before we measure.

Measure the openings

We'll check the available mounting space and how the windows operate. Any recently replaced frames need to be measured in their finished condition.

Review the product plan

We'll discuss the fabric and the mounting arrangement before the order goes in. If an opening limits your first choice, we'll explain what that means for the treatment.

Confirm installation details

We'll confirm the order's installation plan and explain how to use the chosen treatments. Ask about access for maintenance if you're considering motorized shades.

Common Causes

What we see most often on Center Grove window treatments

Center Grove homeowners typically call us about these scenarios.

Stock Shades That Did Not Fit

Somebody measured the trim instead of the opening, bought four shades from a big box and found they were an inch too wide. There's a pile of them in the garage. That single mistake is behind a lot of our first calls in Center Grove, and it's why we measure rather than taking your numbers.

An Awning That Has Given Up

The frame is straight but the fabric is faded, stretched and torn at one edge after years of central Indiana weather. Recovering it on the existing structure is usually far cheaper than starting again, and a lot of people do not know that is an option until somebody tells them.

A West Room Nobody Uses After Three

It's the most common call we get in Center Grove. The living room is fine all morning and by mid-afternoon the sun is coming in almost horizontally, the television is unwatchable and the room is several degrees warmer than the rest of the house. People stop using it and assume that's simply how the house is. A solar shade at the right openness usually gives the room back.

Hardwood Shutters Cupping In A Bathroom

Timber louvers in a room with a shower running twice a day through a muggy central Indiana summer will move, and once they have cupped they don't come back. It's the most expensive avoidable mistake in this product. Composite in wet rooms and hardwood everywhere else is the specification that lasts.

Fading On One Side Of A Bay

The west-facing panel of a bay in a Center Grove house has aged faster than its neighbors and now the three shades no longer match. Sun exposure is cumulative and uneven, so this is normal rather than defective. Ordering a spare panel with the original job is the cheap safeguard nobody thinks of.

A Shade That Rubs And Has Worn

The opening narrows toward the bottom, the shade was measured at the top only, and now one edge of the fabric is fraying where it has been dragging for two years. Three widths at three heights prevents this entirely. Once the fabric is worn, it's a rebuild rather than an adjustment.

How We Work

Five Stages, In This Order

Custom window treatments are made to your openings, so the order matters more than it does in most trades. This is how every Center Grove job runs.

1

Free In-Home Measure

Every opening gets three widths, three heights and a diagonal square check, because houses settle and an opening that is out of square is the difference between a shade that runs true and one that binds. Mounting depth gets read at the jamb. It all goes on paper before any product conversation starts.

2

Product and Fabric, In Your Own Light

Samples get looked at in the room they are going in, not under showroom lighting. This is where openness factor, inside versus outside mount, roll direction and material get decided, and where we tell you the light gap you are going to live with.

3

Written Scope and Contract

Opening by opening, with the mount type, the light gap, the operation and the total price in writing. Indiana requires a written contract on residential work over $150 under IC 24-5-11, and we would write one anyway.

4

Custom Fabrication

Your sizes go to the workroom. Two to five weeks is typical depending on product and finish, longer on specialty shapes and motorized configurations. You get the real date at the measure rather than a range.

5

Install and Walkthrough

Brackets anchored for the substrate they are going into, everything checked level and square, motor travel limits set and scenes built with you standing there. Then we show you how it all works and take the packaging with us.

"Tre was awesome. The day he was scheduled to install was the day we were moving and he worked methodically through the house and was a real pro with programming and teaching and left no mess behind. It has been a month since the install, 11 windows, 5 motorized, and we love them. No issues. My advice to everyone: good shades and service require precise measurements and time to manufacture. If you go this route, start the process 8 to 12 weeks ahead of the time you want installation."

Common Questions

The Fine Print, Center Grove Edition

Straight answers to the questions Center Grove homeowners ask most.

Your in home design consultation is free. We'll measure the openings and review samples in your rooms.
Finished basements need treatments that leave egress windows clear. In sunrooms and rooms facing the golf course or lake, we'll check glare and privacy before choosing the fabric.
The newest houses in Center Grove are in Calvert Farms, where building has continued into 2023, while Kensington Grove has a new ranch on Camden Lane and open lots on Nottinghill Court. Stones Crossing adds homes from 2013 to about 2018, and Hickory Stick Crossings has one story houses from 2014. New houses often come with open great rooms and bare windows, so light control and privacy are the first decisions, and each subdivision's covenants get checked before anything shows from the street. We'll discuss the plan before the rooms are finished and use the completed openings for the order's measurements.

Indiana Climate

Indiana Weather Affects Window Treatments Year Round

Indiana sees some of the most varied weather in the country. Center Grove homeowners live in IECC climate zone 5A, which carries a real cooling load in summer and a real heating load in winter. July averages a high near 85F, January averages a high near 36F with lows near 21F, and the muggy season runs from late May into late September. That is why the same window can be the hottest room in the house in July and the coldest in January.

Check the room at the hours you use it

Tell us when glare affects your Center Grove room. We'll look at which window is responsible and discuss a treatment for that use of the space.

Review privacy after dark

A fabric that gives a daytime view may leave the room visible after dark. We'll discuss that difference before you choose a shade for an occupied room.

Keep working windows accessible

We'll check the treatment against the sash and the controls you use to open the window. The finished arrangement needs to let you operate both.

Connect the plan across a room

If you're covering several openings in one room, we'll discuss how the treatments look together. Each opening still gets its own measurements.

Window Treatment in Center Grove
Material Guide

Choosing the Right Treatment for Center Grove Rooms

An honest breakdown of the three we specify most often, and when each one is the right answer.

Cellular Shades

The one product in this trade with measured energy numbers behind it. Trapped air in the cells does the work, and DOE and ORNL testing found cellular shades saved up to 20 percent on heating energy and up to 15 percent on total heating and cooling against a bare window. In a Center Grove house that matters in January and again in July, which is unusual for one product. Single cell suits most rooms, double cell where the glass is large or the room runs cold. Top-down bottom-up gets you daylight and privacy at the same time.

Both seasonsInsulating$$
Solar & Roller Shades

What you reach for when the complaint is afternoon sun. Solar fabrics come in stated openness factors, and that number is the whole decision: a lower openness cuts more glare and more of the view, a higher one keeps the view and cuts less. On a west or south Center Grove window this is usually the honest answer rather than blackout, because blackout kills the room. Cassette or fascia hides the roll, and roll direction gets decided at the measure so the fabric does not foul a crank or a lock.

Glare controlKeeps the view$$$
Plantation Shutters

The one that stays with the house. Shutters are a finish rather than a covering, and they do not get replaced every few years. In Center Grove the material choice is technical rather than a matter of taste: composite and poly in bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms and sunrooms, because a four month humid season followed by a dry heated winter will move real hardwood, and hardwood only where the room stays conditioned. Louver size, frame style and divider rail get decided standing at your window.

PermanentStays with the house$$$$
Light Control

See What Each Fabric Does To The Light

Pick a fabric below and the window updates. It's a drawing rather than a photograph, so read it as a rough guide to what each family does in a Center Grove room, and to what it doesn't do.

Fabric type

Sheer, 10 percent openness

Ten percent of the weave is open, so you keep the view and most of the daylight. Glare drops a little. After dark, once your lamps are on, someone outside can read shapes through it, which is why this belongs on a view window rather than a bedroom.

Openness factor is printed on the fabric card, so you can compare one line against another before you order anything.

Keeps the viewNot private after dark

Solar, 5 percent openness

The usual pick for a west window or a covered porch. You can still read the yard through it, glare comes down noticeably, and the fabric intercepts a good share of the sun before it reaches you at four in the afternoon.

It also cuts the UV landing on floors and furniture. NFRC puts UV at roughly 40 to 60 percent of fading damage, so this slows fading rather than stopping it.

View and glare controlSlows fading

Solar, 3 percent openness

A tighter weave. The room goes dimmer and the view drops back to an outline. Choose it where the sun is the problem and the view is second, which around here usually means a west wall in July. That's a common call on this side of Indianapolis.

Openness affects how much you see out, not how private you are. A 3 percent fabric still shows silhouettes at night.

View becomes an outlineStrong glare control

Solar, 1 percent openness

Close to a solid fabric with a little view left in it. This is the strongest glare control in the solar family.

The trade is that it darkens the room on a gray January day too. Indianapolis averages a January high near 36F and the light is flat, so think about how the room reads in both seasons before you commit.

Darkest solar optionDim on gray days

Light filtering

No view through it. Daylight comes through the face diffused, so the room stays bright without a hot spot across the television or the kitchen island. This is the default for living spaces.

It isn't private in reverse at night. With the lamps on and the sun down, silhouettes still show.

No view through itBright without the glare

Room darkening

A denser fabric, usually with a liner behind it. Most of the light coming through the face is gone.

Light still arrives around the edges on an inside mount, so a room darkening shade gives you a dim room rather than a dark one. If someone in the house sleeps during the day, say so at the measure and we'll scope it differently.

Dim, not darkEdges stay bright

Blackout

The fabric itself passes essentially no light. What you'll still see is the perimeter. Lutron publishes an inside-mount light gap of about 3/4 inch per side on its Roller 20 and 64 shades, along with a standard factory deduction of 1/16 inch per side, and shades over 120 inches tall or past a 4:1 height-to-width ratio get larger gaps than that.

So if you need a genuinely dark bedroom, that gap has to be dealt with on purpose, either with side channels or by going outside mount. We tell you which one your opening can carry while we're still standing in the room.

Dark facePerimeter needs a plan

Openness factor is a measured fabric spec, so you can compare it line to line. The category names are not measured. One maker's room darkening can behave like another maker's light filtering, which is why the sample books come to the measure and get opened in the room they're going in, at the hour that room has the problem.

Kensington Grove sits about six tenths of a mile west of Center Grove High School along South Morgantown Road. Its streets carry Greenwood 46143 addresses and fall within Center Grove Community Schools, though some directories file the neighborhood under Bargersville. Most of the houses date from 2002 to 2004, and a new ranch on Camden Lane plus open lots on Nottinghill Court show that building has continued. Ranches with finished basements are the common plan, with sizes running from about 2,700 square feet to a few far larger custom houses near 7,500. Ponds dot the green space in the neighborhood, and backyards tend toward pools, hot tubs and fire pits on lots of just over a quarter acre to nearly half an acre. Mid-1980s construction sets the character of Hunters Pointe, a neighborhood about a mile northeast of Center Grove High School along Fox Ridge Avenue and Millstream Road. The houses date from 1985 to 1987, and they come as brick ranches, one and a half story plans and two stories of roughly 1,800 to 3,000 square feet. Lots run from about 0.38 to 0.58 acre, with the Fox Ridge parcels measuring roughly 105 feet wide by 170 feet deep, so the houses sit well apart. Mature trees and fully fenced backyards are typical, and a covered front porch turns up on some of the one and a half story plans. Mailing addresses read Greenwood 46143, and the neighborhood is inside Center Grove Community Schools. View Hunters Pointe window treatment details →
Houses in Calvert Farms range from 2008 to 2023 as the sections have filled in, and finished sizes run from about 2,000 to 4,700 square feet. The subdivision sits a little over a mile northwest of Center Grove High School and about the same distance from the Smith Valley community, which puts it near the dividing line between the two. A year round pond serves as an amenity, and public green space with a stocked pond backs some of the lots on Calvert Farms Drive. The neighborhood was platted in sections, which fits a subdivision built out in stages over fifteen years, and lots run around a third of an acre. Corral Court and Golden Field Drive are the other streets. View Calvert Farms window treatment details →
About 1.4 miles east northeast of Center Grove High School, Willow Lakes East is centered on Willow Lakes East Boulevard and sits a few tenths of a mile west of the Dye's Walk golf community. The homes were built between 1993 and 1998, and they're two story houses on lots between 0.27 and 0.33 acre. Many have finished basements, some with ceilings of nine feet or more. Larger houses on Fountain View Drive add a pool and a three car attached garage, and a few of the boulevard houses are built entirely of brick. Mailing addresses read Greenwood 46143, and the neighborhood falls inside Center Grove Community Schools, with the high school about a mile and a half away by road. Every address reads Greenwood 46143 within the Center Grove Community Schools district. Houses were built from 2004 to 2014 on lots of 0.34 to 0.42 acre, and several face the fairways or a pond. Residents have access to the golf club, a community pool and clubhouse, a playground and an on site restaurant, plus walking trails and more than six miles of sidewalks, and sizes run from about 2,600 to 6,700 square feet. Dye's Walk is a golf course community of late-1970s houses, built in 1977 to 1979 along the tees and fairways of Dye's Walk Country Club. It sits about 1.7 miles east northeast of Center Grove High School and a few tenths of a mile east of Willow Lakes East. Lots measure about 0.33 to 0.35 acre, and the houses are one story brick plans with walk out basements and one and a half story plans on the fairway, from about 1,800 to 4,300 square feet. Some Greensview Drive houses sit along the seventh tee and fairway, and wrap around decks on Woodsway Drive overlook the course. Mailing addresses read Greenwood 46143, and the community is inside Center Grove Community Schools. View Dye's Walk window treatment details →
Waters Edge is a lake neighborhood about half a mile southeast of Center Grove High School, built around a private lake off Waters Edge Way. The houses are custom brick ranches from around 2000 on lots of about 0.42 acre, with lake views, private lake access and floating docks. Sizes run from about 5,500 to 6,500 square feet, some houses have six bedrooms, and finished walk out basements add bedrooms below the main floor. Mailing addresses read Greenwood 46143 and Center Grove Community Schools serve the area. The streets are very quiet, and almost every errand needs a car, which is typical of the larger lot neighborhoods west of the high school. View Deerwood window treatment details →
Woodland Streams is the plat name for a wooded pocket about a mile southeast of Center Grove High School with Greenwood 46143 mailing addresses, though some paperwork calls it Woodland Springs, and the plat ran to at least five sections. Houses here are two stories from around 1980, many renovated since, on lots of roughly 1.5 acres with cul de sac settings and views into the woods. That lot size is several times what neighborhoods such as Willow Lakes East offer, and the trees keep the houses well hidden from each other. Center Grove High School is about 1.1 miles away, and the neighborhood sits inside Center Grove Community Schools, with Waters Edge about half a mile to the west northwest. Newer housing about 1.6 miles east of Center Grove High School goes by the name Stones Crossing, near the State Road 135 and Stones Crossing Road corridor, and some directories call the area Frances-Stones Crossing.
